Personalising a Funeral Service
The funeral service you have should be as special as the life you will be remembering.
Here are a few ideas:
- Have more than one or two people deliver the eulogy, sharing different memories and aspects of their relationship
- Create a personalised program for the funeral service: include photos, poems, anecdotes....
- Include children in the delivery of the funeral service: Speaking, reading, singing, playing....
- Meet and greet people attending the funeral service as they arrive for the service
- Create a funeral service that captures their personality. If they where 'out there' - don't be afraid to use 'out there' colours/music/humour. If they were very 'affectionate' have everyone stand up and hug the person next to them during the service.

- Create a guest book for people to write down a memory of their own
- Display personal items from their hobbies and interests
- Create an 'audio visual' presentation
- Choose clothing that reflects their life, interests and passions
- Ask children to write a letter or draw a picture and have them place it on or in the coffin
- Select meaningful flowers - a simple arrangement maybe just perfect
- Choose the right location for the funeral service
- Display a photoghraphic collage
